The Promise of ChristmasНамуна
The Christmas season is all about celebrating what is good. Or at least it’s supposed to be! Sometimes, we expect the holiday season to be all merry and bright, but in reality, it ends up being a little more sad and dreary. When that happens—when our expectations for the season aren’t met—we can still hold on to the reminder Paul gives us in Romans 12:9. We cling to what is good.
So, what is good about the Christmas season? With God, everything! God sent His good and perfect Son as the ultimate display of love for us. In doing so, He showed us that love is so much more than a feeling—it’s an action, a really, really good one! God didn’t just tell us of His love for us; He acted on it. He sent Jesus as a demonstration of His sincere love for us, and that’s a good thing. It’s the good news we can cling to as we navigate this season.
Today, take some time to thank God for demonstrating His love for you. Ask Him to help you focus on His love during this Christmas season. As your expectations may or may not be met, you can still cling to the good news of great joy that God made possible through Jesus.

About this Plan
The birth of Jesus isn’t just a great story; it’s a real event that shows us not just how God loves us but how God’s people (just like us) had to learn to trust in the face of incredibly difficult and, at times, unbelievable circumstances. We’ll be reminded of the humanity in the story and the faith it takes to believe in the promise of Christmas!
