FOOD MULTIPLIED
Whatever your need is, I want you to know that the supply is not going to be there, but the supply is already there for you. When Jesus was placed in an impossible situation, He looked up, gave thanks to God, broke the bread, and distributed it. In other words, He was confident that God’s supply never runs out but overflows in abundance.
While we were in Guatemala, we visited one of the main prisons that remanded over a thousand inmates and we had raised enough money (well that’s what we thought!) to feed all of them. So we arranged for a few cooks, only to have them tell us that the resources were enough to cook for no more than four hundred inmates. The guards warned us that if there was not enough food for everyone, there would definitely be a riot. That was the last thing we wanted to hear!
Thankfully, the Bible says, whatever things we desire when we pray, we must BELIEVE and pursue with confidence. At that very moment of need, we held our hands in agreement and began to pray, believing that God was going to multiply the delicious rice, chicken, and beans and that we were going to walk out of that place rejoicing and praising God for His providence. After the Amen, we continued praying in the spirit and envisioning the miracle.
As they began to serve the food, one person kept count of the plates. 1... 100... 150... 200... 290... 299... 300... (We kept praying!) 400... 500... 600... 1000... and finally feeding every single person in that prison, including the prison guards! Here’s the best part of that miraculous episode - the giant appetite of these inmates made the miracle even more exciting - they kept coming back for second and third servings! The food never stopped till the last man standing got his final serving of the meal!
Application: Just like we took time to pray, ask, believe and envision, it’s time for you to do the same for your situation. Once you get a hold of it, keep seeing it on the inside till it manifests on the outside. It will happen in Jesus’ name. God doesn’t need to be persuaded; you need to persuade yourself that you serve a miracle working God.
Quote: “As believers in Jesus Christ, our work is to believe while God works on our behalf” – Joyce Meyer
