Faith for the FaithlessНамуна
Ever had to wait in a line that seemed endless, like you’d never get your turn?
At one time I felt that way with God; I thought He was ignoring me. It’s silly to think about it now, but at the time the feelings were real. What I learned in time built my faith by experience. There was no fast pass to the outcome, no moving to the front of the line—so to speak. But in time, I finally realized God wasn’t ignoring me, He was working things out for me!
I love the promise in Isaiah 29:16a, which says, See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands. Our names are carved into His hands, not lightly sketched but written deeply by the indelible blood of Jesus. So how could God ignore something as precious as His children?
Trust and faith are what we need to decisively move us towards God. He sees into our lives, knows us from the inside out, and keeps safe the plans and the determinations made by Him.
Perhaps you are waiting “in line” for God’s hand to move. Treasure the waiting times by recalling His faithfulness! He will help you when you’ve fallen away or lose sight of where you’re going. He’s a kind Father who tenderly bends down to pick us back up and leads us forward. Whatever life may bring, fast pass or not, we must choose to praise God in the wait!
“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” —A.W. Tozer
Gain God’s Truth: There are no deadlines in God’s timeline. Be assured and settle this in your mind and heart. Faith is a gift! God never hurries, AND He wastes nothing. It’s exciting to see His hands at work and to watch His plans unfold. Remembering your name is carved into His hands brings comfort, builds faith, and eradicates doubt. And when your faith is weak or problems arise, don’t lose sight of God. Unexpected problems or unmet deadlines with prolonged periods of waiting are small things to the Lord. Everything is! God rewards those who are faithful to Him. Rely on God’s eternal hold!
