Baptism

DAY 3 OF 5

Baptized in Our Father

Love is the power of God that operates within us and prepares us to handle the realities of Heaven on earth. It is when the love of God captivates our hearts and saturates our life that our lives are prepared for all God desires to do in our lives.

Being baptized in our Father is being so fully immersed in Him that we become love for the sake of others. It’s not just about getting something from God but becoming something (love) because of Christ’s sacrifice. If we miss becoming love, we miss the whole reason that Jesus came.

When you begin to spend time with God in intimacy, His nature saturates you and your identity rests in the fact that you are a son or daughter of the Living God. Once we realize that we are loved unconditionally by God, we can become love for the sake of others.

The question of whether or not “God loves us” or “cares about us” is not determined by the circumstances of life, but by the fact that God sent His Son to die for us. Our Father’s love for us is proved through the price He paid to give us His Son, Jesus, on our behalf.

Immerse yourself into the Father and allow Him to transform you so that you may become love.

Questions:

  1. Do you feel that your life reflects the love of God? Do you feel that you have become love for the sake of others?
  2. What things have you put your identity in other than God?
  3. Do you question God’s love for you, or do you feel that you are loved unconditionally by God?

About this Plan

Baptism

Baptism comes from a word that means to be “immersed and/or soaked;" to be dipped into; immersed; submerged; pickled; which creates a permanent change within us. In this plan, we will learn what baptism means and discuss the number of different baptisms in Scripture: baptized into Jesus, water baptism, in the Father, and in the Holy Spirit.
