Becoming a Wife of Influence
Our husbands are watching us.
They see us at our best—dressed up, made up, and refreshed—and they see us at our worst—oversized pajamas, no makeup, and crazy hair. They watch how we respond when we are happy and well-rested, and they notice our responses when we are frustrated and overwhelmed.
If we live out our belief in Christ in those interactions consistently, they become more receptive to our thoughts, ideas, and suggestions. In short, we become a godly influence in their lives.
However, it is confusing when we are faithful in our church attendance and sweet with other believers yet unkind and irritable at home. It’s damaging to our relationship when our husbands see us serve in every capacity outside of the home, but we resist serving them when we come home.
We must exhibit Christ at home with our families just like we do outside of home or lose our credibility and influence. Let’s decide today that we will consistently demonstrate the love of Christ on our best days as well as our worst.
Prayer:
Lord, don’t let me forget that my words can drive my husband closer to You or further away from You. I can be an instrument of righteousness or destruction. The choice is mine. I choose to live a life that draws him to You. I choose to speak words that draw him to You. May I be consistent in holiness, love, and peace. May he see You in me through my actions and life. I trust You to use me in my marriage to draw my husband closer to You. I want to represent You well, in Jesus’ name.

About this Plan
Changes in our marriages will only happen in proportion to changes in us. Yes, our husbands need to grow, but we can’t control their growth. We only have authority over our own. This devotional is designed to help us yield our hearts, and ultimately our actions and responses, to the life-changing power of God’s Word. As we do that, we will see changes in our marriages and our lives.
