DAY 13 OF 17

New Heart of Love For God

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 36:26 (ESV)

In 1967, a medical team carried out the world’s first human heart transplant. This first surgery was a true breakthrough for medicine and brought hope to many all over the world. Since then, many lives were saved because of this new medical technology. This may extend human physical life, but God promised Israel to give them eternal life through Jesus Christ.

God gives us His promise of a new life as He gives us a new heart when we accept Him as our Saviour. It is a new beginning for each of us who put our faith in Him. The Lord tells us that He makes a transplant of our heart, removing our merciless, stony heart and replacing it with a heart of flesh. In His way, God is saving our life by filling us with His spirit. When his Spirit fills us with new life, we are revived and given a new heart of love for God and all people.

Prayer

Lord, we thank You for giving us a new heart, a heart of flesh so that we can love You and love the people that surround us. Breathe life into us that we may have a new life, In the name of Jesus, Amen.

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Ezekiel

By the river Chebar, Ezekiel prophesied both judgement and hope to the exiles of Judah, who were just removed from the Promised Land. Although the people cried out, “Our bones are dried up and our hope is lost,” Ezekiel reassured them that God would always provide a way to restore His people. Punishment is grueling, but sometimes it is meant to bring us back to repentance and humility before God.
