12 Encouraging Bible VersesНамуна
“Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).” Psalm 55:22 (AMP)
Sometimes life gives us burdens that feel too heavy to carry. It might be the stress of being overworked and underpaid, or it could be an unexpected diagnosis. Maybe your strong-willed child has you at your wit’s end, or you are fighting addiction - or a loved one is. Tensions in a relationship. Caring for your aging parents. Struggling with infertility. Not having enough money to pay bills and staring at a mountain of debt. The list can go on and on and on. We can have many burdens that weigh us down. But Jesus has said to us that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. I encourage you to cast your cares upon Him!
Sometimes all we need is to let go and let God. We cannot handle burdens alone, and God did not intend for us to do so. Does this mean we forget about the situations that need our attention? Not at all. There are things we cannot and should not ignore.
But God never asks us to ignore things. Instead, He offers us a beautiful gift. He gives us rest. Rest for our soul. Not the type of rest the world gives . . . you know, Netflix and stuff. ;) But His rest makes you feel like you have hope! Hope that things will change. Hope that you are stronger than the circumstances. Hope to continue.
The only way I know how to do this is by spending time with Jesus in worship, prayer, and reading the Bible in your secret place. This is the only thing that can sustain us. But when you get filled up in His presence, you regain your strength to continue the fight.
We are not alone. God is always with us! Be encouraged to know that the Lord wants to release you from the weight of your burdens! Not only will He sustain you, but he will not let you fall. Trust in Him and ask Him to help you to lighten your load!
