Walking With Jesus (Faith) Намуна
From Faith to Faith
Our faith in Christ begins when we believe in Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. However, faith does not stop there. Faith is also our goal, namely the salvation of our souls. “Receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.” (1 Pet. 1:9). We need Lord Jesus as our guide to achieve this. “Looking unto Jesus, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross.” (Hebrews 12:2). God wants us to have an intimate relationship with Jesus when we follow Him.
The question is, has Jesus become our guide, example, and purpose in life? Where is He in this life? Is He outside? Do we know Him? We often make Jesus as a mere guard for us. Many people hope and ask Him to guard their lives but do not want to make Him the captain of their ships. We ask Him to protect our lives from the threat of physical harm and the lack of material. We prefer to ask Him to guard us so that our lives will be easier. Is this how we build a relationship with the Lord?
If we want to have the right relationship with the Father, then we must do and treat our lives more than that. He is not our only guardian. He must be the captain as well as our destination. Jesus is the guide who leads us in the truth that sets us free. He is the One who directs us to the true purpose of life. Our focus is to be like Him in every way.
A half-hearted relationship with God will do nothing. We may not even have any relationship with the Father. We only pretend to be what He wants us to be, even though we are nothing at all. We are just wasting our lives.
Reflection:
1. How is the development of your level of faith in terms of your relationship with God? Is it just starting?
2. What developments have taken place in your faith? Are the processes toward faith, soul salvation, and maturity happening right now?
Application:
Make Christ the captain of your life, and not just a guard!
