God’s Expectation
Hosea 6:6
I want faithful love more than I want animal sacrifices.
I want people to know Me more than I want burnt offerings.
When we want to learn more about what is expected from the students in school, we will check in our handbook, read the students’ code of conduct or ask the teachers. We will try to find out about it, so that we do not miss out on things or do the wrong things.
Through Hosea God told His people what He expected from them. God desires mercy and love much more than sacrifice. He wants relationships more than rituals. He wants love more than a robotic keeping of the law. He longs that we come to a deeper knowledge of Him, rather than just doing the weekly routine of attending the Sunday school. He wants His people’s hearts to long after Him, to put attention on Him and to desire to know Him more.
Let’s fellowship with God through prayer and reading the Bible daily. As we spend time talking with God and reading His word, we’ll find ourselves submitting to His expectation, not because we have to, but because we want to do it out of our love for Him.
Prayer
Dear God, I am so grateful for Your love. I want to know You more and do Your will daily. Amen.
