COMPLETE RESTORATION OPENS THE EYES OF THE WORLD
And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. (Zechariah 14:16)
What a tremendous plan God has for the chosen nation, the people of Israel! From the writings of prophet Zechariah, we know that it's God's time to take over this world and especially Jerusalem. The world will be shaken and will focus its attention on the condition of Jerusalem and try to destroy God's people. Though the Israelites hardened their heart and rejected Jesus Christ, eventually they will cry out to the Lord, and He will reveal Himself and make them come to worship Jesus, whom they pierced.
At this point in our reading, the Israelites had not come to believe in the Lord Jesus, but God will fulfill His word that says that 'every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is the Lord'. Zechariah wrote about the nations coming to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles-a celebration only carried out by the Israelites. Certainly, Jesus will fulfill His work of salvation for the nations because it is God's will. Its climax will occur when the people of Israel come to believe in Jesus, the Savior Messiah.
Joseph's brothers worshipped him when he became the highest person of authority in Egypt. The dream God gave Joseph eventually came to pass. Joseph's story portrays a picture of Jesus Christ. Ultimately, the Israelites will acknowledge and believe in Jesus, who will come to the world for the second time. We all have a story of restoration. When we became believers, we might have been disliked by our family members and rejected by others. But when God brings about complete restoration in our lives, it will attract people to us, and they will believe in Him. Only God can do this, and we must trust that it will happen in our lives.
A complete restoration in our lives will extend to our family members and neighborhood. The Lord can make us a blessing to many. Just as the nations will take firm hold of God's people by the hem of their robes and say, "Let us go with you because we have heard that God is with you", people whose eyes are open will see how the Lord is with us and desire to learn from our lives.
Come and surrender to God for He is the Potter who formed us for His glory.
