Real Hope: The Book of EstherНамуна
When All Seems Lost - God's Timing Is Still Perfect
In Esther 5 and 6, we witness God’s divine plan revealed at the time when even those who worshiped Him feared all was lost. Haman’s grasp for power is all but assured with the impending slaughter of the Jews. Esther stands alone in the wings of the king’s throne room facing the longest shot at justice imaginable. If Xerxes condemns her to death – ALL is lost including Mordecai’s life and the lives of every Jew across 127 Persian provinces.
Have you ever felt like God’s not paying attention? Cried out to God for answers or at least better odds? In Esther’s story, we see that God was present in astonishing ways – in Esther’s bravery as she walks toward the king; in Mordecai standing tall at the city gate – a posture that so enraged Haman that his bruised ego blinds him to Esther’s banquet plan; and in perhaps the most miraculous – a sleep-deprived king asks for the records of his kingdom to be read to him. Remember the 127 provinces? The courtiers bring him the one province containing the story of Mordecai’s heroism. It’s a massive document that they open to Mordecai’s story! Then the king, not known for his conscience and fairness, decrees that Mordecai should be rewarded and paraded through the streets by the nearest nobleman in the palace – which happens to be Haman. The very man plotting Mordecai’s public humiliation and death.
Today, rest in the knowledge that God’s timing is always perfect.

About this Plan
God used Esther, a seemingly ordinary girl, to change the fate of an entire nation. He perfectly position her to be a catalyst for change and to use her voice for justice. Our prayer for this plan is that through the life of Esther you will see and understand more fully the faithfulness and sovereignty of God.
