Real Hope: The Book of EstherНамуна
A Place In God's Plan
God uses unusual events to accomplish His plans and purposes, and we see this unfold in the book of Esther. Esther is a young Jewish orphan living in Persia. When her parents died, she came under the guardian care of her uncle Mordecai, who reared her as his own daughter.
After the Persian King Ahasuerus exiled his former queen, Vashti, for refusing to be paraded before his guests, he began the search for a replacement. When the king’s search party began, Esther was noticed right away; and she along with the loveliest women were groomed for a year before being given the chance to please the king. When her night with the king arrived, we read that ‘the king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight,’ and she was made queen.
Esther who had little to no control over her own life, would find a way to use her circumstance to save God’s people from genocide. And not only to survive, but to thrive as exiles in a hostile land.
In exactly the same way, we have a place in God’s plan. As mighty as the rulers of this world may seem, they are not finally in control. Only God is sovereign over all. He is the One to be feared above all others. God has specific plans for our lives and uses the good and the bad circumstances to bring us to situations that will bring Him glory.

About this Plan
God used Esther, a seemingly ordinary girl, to change the fate of an entire nation. He perfectly position her to be a catalyst for change and to use her voice for justice. Our prayer for this plan is that through the life of Esther you will see and understand more fully the faithfulness and sovereignty of God.
