God of Restoration
Isaiah 35:10b
… Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
Have you tried to fix a broken mug or jug? If you carefully and patiently put the broken pieces back together, it can look almost as good as new. It means you restore the broken mug or jug. Restoration is an act of returning something to its original condition.
God is a God of restoration. Things that He restores are not as simple as a broken mug. It is more about nature restoration, physical restoration or healing, and even spiritual restoration as in turning our mourning into joy.
To restore something, you have to know which part is broken. For example, to restore a broken relationship in a family, there needs to be forgiveness, support, and love among one another. God is surely able to turn the brokenness into a whole new loving family.
When your heart is filled with sorrow, God is able to lift up that sorrow and restore the joy in your heart.
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for never leaving me alone and broken. Thank You for coming to restore me back to Your original design. Amen.
