Through the Bible: JoshuaНамуна
God, Our Promise Keeper
Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.
Joshua 21:45 (ESV)
Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Joshua 22:5 (ESV)
The promise of God is powerfully fulfilled in the allotment of the land to the twelve tribes of Israel. The Levites were granted 48 cities throughout the 11 tribal territories. God honored His covenant with Abraham by giving the Promised Land to His descendants.
The Levites are a beautiful picture of our priestly inheritance. God scatters us among different tribes and places so that we may dwell among those who need God and to minister to them as well. We remember Joshua and how God fights for His people, provides for His people, and delivers His people.
Prayer:
Abba Father, we ascribe greatness to You, our Rock! Your work is perfect, and all Your ways are just. A God of faithfulness and without injustice, good and upright are You. Your word is near us, in our mouths and in our hearts so that we can perform it. May we obey you and choose life. Your promise still stands, from everlasting to everlasting. Great is your faithfulness, Oh Lord! In Jesus’ most precious name, Amen.
About this Plan
The book of Joshua records the Israelites’ conquest of the Canaanite Land and testifies of God’s faithfulness to His promise. Just as the author says in 21:45, “Not one of all the LORD's good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.” Similarly, when life hits hard, always remember to be strong and courageous and cling onto God’s promises. Sooner or later, all will come to pass.
