Through the Bible: JoshuaНамуна
I Am Here Dear and This Is My War
The LORD said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you.”
Joshua 10:8 (NIV)
The chapter follows the victory of Jericho, Joshua taking and destroying the town of Ai, making the Gibeonites slaves, further killing the five kings, and taking the southern Canaanite kingdoms by following God’s words. I was amazed at how God reminded Joshua that He was with him and God Himself was fighting for him. The reliance on Him made all victories possible. There are times I thought work is my ground and my strength, but at bottleneck times, He kept nudging me saying "I am here, dear, and this is My war." He only wants me to follow Him, and He will take me through work crises, one by one.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for carrying us through the tough war we are involved in. Thank You for the reassurance of hearing Your voice, and that Your promises never fail. We thank You and pray all these things in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen.
About this Plan
The book of Joshua records the Israelites’ conquest of the Canaanite Land and testifies of God’s faithfulness to His promise. Just as the author says in 21:45, “Not one of all the LORD's good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.” Similarly, when life hits hard, always remember to be strong and courageous and cling onto God’s promises. Sooner or later, all will come to pass.
