The Perfect YouНамуна
A Grace Atmosphere
What is our source? What motivates everything that we say or do? Is it merely a set of religious principles, or are we guided by our new hearts where Christ dwells?
Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is the new creation. Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule—to the Israel of God. (Galatians 6:15–16 NIV)
Here, Paul mentions a rule, but not one in the traditional sense. No, it’s the rule of the new creation: Knowing who you are in Christ and being yourself. This is what counts! The new-hearted, perfect you doesn’t need a set of laws to govern your behavior. You can let God’s grace rule!
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good. (Titus 2:11–14 NIV)
By God’s grace, you’ve been transformed into the new-hearted, perfect you who is eager to bear fruit. God’s atmosphere of grace is your motivator. Grace is way more than forgiveness when you fail. God’s grace inspires you to live an upright life.
