Hey God, It’s Me Again

There are two types of people in the world: those who talk and those who text! I’m a texter. I send dozens of texts every day. I don’t have to be in a particular place, I don’t have to be alone, I don’t even have to stop what I’m doing. Texting allows me to communicate whenever and wherever. 

The key to our relationship with God is communicating with Him regularly. Prayer is how we communicate with God. It’s a conversation with the one who can change everything. Our prayers don’t have to be fancy or long. There aren’t any magic words or special phrases. You don’t always have to kneel down or fold your hands together. You don’t even have to close your eyes. There are times when we pray out loud and times when we pray quietly. There are times when we stop what we’re doing to pray and times when we pray while we’re doing something else. The important thing is that we talk to God about everything. The more we talk to him, the more connected we are to Him. The more connected we are to Him, the easier it is to know and understand how to deal with the things that are going on in our lives. 

When you’re having a rough day or you’re trying to solve a problem, talking to friends is nice, but most of the time they can’t do much to help you, except listen. But our Father in heaven knows everything and has the answer to every problem we’ll ever face. He wants to develop a relationship with you so He can share his knowledge and wisdom with you. Whether you’re happy, sad, scared, or frustrated, He wants to hear about it. He never gets tired of hearing from His children. 

Never stop praying. He’s always listening!

Pray: Lord, thank you for inviting me to talk to you and for always listening. Help me to remember to talk to you every day about everything.

Do: Schedule time to talk to God every day. Talk to him before you get out of bed every morning and before you go to bed each night. Before you pick up the phone to call or text your friends, take some time to talk to God about whatever is bothering you or on your mind.
