Quick Question: How Do I Find Joy?Намуна

Have you ever gotten something new, like a brand new phone, tablet, or gaming system, and you felt so much joy from it that you thought you’d be happy forever? Then, a couple of weeks or months later, it meant nothing to you and you were looking to get something new already? It’s easy to be joyful about tangible things, the things that we see, touch and interact with every day. However, the joy we receive from those things, the “stuff” in our lives, doesn’t last very long at all and never really leaves us feeling truly joyful or satisfied. True joy is found in God. Even though we can’t see Him, we can still feel the joy that He gives us and can look forward to the day that we will be able to see Him! Until we meet God in Heaven one day, we can hold on to His joy here on earth and know that the joy he gives us will truly last forever.

Challenge: Take some time today to write out a prayer of thanksgiving to God. Thank Him for the stuff that He has given you in your life, but also thank Him for the things He has given you that aren’t tangible- things like peace, salvation, grace, and joy. Thank Him for giving you those things today.
