8 Days to Rethink Your Thinking (For Wives)Намуна
What are your thoughts about your husband? Are your thoughts in line with God’s Word?
Anytime we choose to come into alignment with God’s Word, there is power activated in our lives. For many of us, we rarely consider our thoughts and how they affect our actions. Your thoughts are powerful directors of your feelings and your actions. Learning to think the way God thinks must become a part of who we are.
If you work with me on a personal level, you will no doubt end up in a conversation about metacognition. This is simply the process of thinking what you are thinking about. One study from TLEX Institute says that we have anywhere from 12,000 to 60,000 thousand thoughts a day and for most people, 80% of them are negative. Pause for a moment and think about that. If you are even close to that number it would be super powerful for you to begin to think about what you are thinking about. Negative thoughts bring about negative actions and beliefs.
The study also found that 95% of our thoughts are the exact same repetitive thoughts from the day before. Do you see why making sure we train ourselves to monitor our thoughts and bring them into alignment with God’s word matters?
There is a scriptural directive for this.: “We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,” 2 Corinthians 10:5 NASB
This Bible plan based on Philippians 4:8 has been created to help you begin to think about your own thoughts about your husband and to recognize if they are, indeed, in agreement with the way the Bible tells us to think.
“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything, worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” Philippians 4:8 NASB
What are your actual thoughts about your husband? Are they the thoughts God has asked you to have? In this study, you will have the opportunity to take a closer look at what you are really thinking.
Are your thoughts about your husband TRUE?
All too often we spend our lives believing lies. We believe them about ourselves, other people, our husband, and even at times, about God. Taking a few moments everyday to think about what you are thinking is a powerful practice. The truth is, your husband is a gift from the Lord to you. He is God’s child and God takes personally how you treat his child. Whatever you do, say, or think about your husband, you have done, said, or thought about Jesus.
“The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’” Matthew 25:40 NASB
Whatever you think about your husband you think about yourself because the two of you are one. “For this reason, a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24 NASB
Choose today to focus your thoughts on the truth of who your husband is. It will change the way you interact with him.
