Christmas in 3 Acts

DAY 16 OF 21

Experience
Take a 30 minute prayer walk. Before you go, use a marker to write down one word on each shoe. They can be the same word or it can be two different words. They could be words from the passage in Luke 4.

The words are hopes and prayers that you have for your community. You will literally walk this prayer around your neighborhood. Of course some of the word will rub off—symbolizing the hope and intention of your prayer—‘to leave an imprint in this place!’.

Practice
This “mission manifesto” of Jesus (in verses 18/19) gives us a clear indication of what He wanted to spend His time doing.

Take some time to assess your “mission manifesto” this Advent. Write out the things you know He is calling and equipping you to do? Then evaluate how much time and energy you are giving to those things.

Are there some changes you need to make?

Question
Who is God asking me to pray for and reach out to this Advent?

Prayer
I choose to orientate my life to the vulnerable and hurting, being an expression of Your love this Christmas season.

About this Plan

Christmas in 3 Acts

In this Advent Infinitum Series, we will be using the themes of Tragedy, Comedy and Fairytale. They will act as doorways into a deeper understanding of surrender, generosity, and mission. Each theme lasts 7 days. The first day will be an introduction. Days 2 to 6 will give you a reading, an experience, a practice, a question, and a prayer. Day 7 is Sabbath, consolidation, review, and recollection.
