Hearing God's VoiceНамуна
Have you ever felt like you should tell the truth when it wasn’t convenient, do the right thing when your boss was pressuring you to do otherwise, or that you should try and cheer up that friend who’s going through a hard time?
Have you ever gone to say something you knew was hurtful and felt something inside saying, “Maybe you should stay quiet”?
If you follow Jesus you’ve probably experienced this at some point; but, maybe you wrote it off as your conscience or indigestion.
However, that may have been the Holy Spirit guiding you.
People will often describe the Holy Spirit speaking to them as a nudge or a prompting.
So, how do you know if what you’re experiencing is the Holy Spirit?
Here are two questions to ask:
1) Does it line up with what’s written in the Bible?
2) Will this help me love God or love others?
If you answer no to either of these questions, then what you heard was probably not from God‘s Spirit.
End this time by praying and asking God to help you hear the voice of the Holy Spirit today. Pray that you would be sensitive to his promptings in your life.

About this Plan
God wants to speak to you. However, many of our lives are too noisy and busy to hear from Him. He speaks and we miss it. Or, we don't know what to look or listen for. Over the next ten days, we'll explore some of the different ways God speaks, as well as some ways to ready ourselves so that, when he does speak, we're ready to hear.
