The Worship Project Devotional Series

DAY 3 OF 6

Your Way, Yahweh

Not my will, but Yours be done.” It was a prayer Jesus prayed in the garden of Gethsemane even though He knew what lay before Him. It’s a difficult prayer to pray, and yet as believers, we’re instructed to surrender our plans, our dreams, our will to that of the Father, who promises to guide us on our journey.

Psalm 37:23 (NLT) says, “The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.”

Not only does the Lord direct our steps, but He walks beside us. And nothing we ever do will keep Him from walking with us. As we take steps toward Him, He molds us into His image. Therefore, day by day, choice by choice, step by step, we look a little more like our Creator. We can rest assured that He goes before us, paving a path that will always lead us home.

The psalmists often sought the Lord’s guidance. Psalm 25:4-5 (NASB) says, “Make me know Your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You I wait all the day.”

Like the psalmists before us, “Your Way, Yahweh” is our prayer for God to lead us, sanctify us, and guide us toward all the good things He has planned for us.

Purify our hearts / Teach us how to walk in Your way / Yahweh / More of who You are / Tear down every wall in Your way / Yahweh

We’re often tempted to believe the lies that our past, our mistakes, or our weaknesses disqualify us from being used by God. But the good news is, Jesus specializes in making broken things beautiful. And He wants to heal the cracked places in your life.

The body of Christ is made up of broken believers, yes; but we have a Savior who is in our midst. Those footprints beside you? They’re His. Take His hand ask Him to cleanse your heart and seek His wisdom in all things.

The Bible tells us in James 1:5 (NLT), “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.”

Friends, the Lord will make a way for you. All you need to do is ask.

About this Plan

The Worship Project Devotional Series

While social distancing, Jeremy and Adrienne Camp have discovered solace in worship. They’ve found that music continues to give peace and reassurance. This feeling prompted them to write songs that resulted in The Worship Project. Jeremy and Adrienne merged their gifts to create a body of work that’s primed for this season of waiting. Join the Camps as they explore these themes and share devotionals inspired by the songs.
