The world that experiences your presence is no longer a world of black shame or dark fear, but it is a world that is gloriously lit by His light that shines through you. When Jesus left Planet Earth to return to Heaven’s streets of pure gold, He left you here to be a pure-gold lampstand.
When Jesus returned to the Father’s glory, He left behind on Planet Earth an integral part of who He is. He left the joy of His Father’s presence on Earth, He left the healing power that He had been given on Earth, He left the peace that passes understanding on Earth, He left the Person and the power of the Holy Spirit on Earth, and He left His light and His glory with us, His dearly loved children.
Heaven was already bright enough; therefore He generously left with us His power that lights up situations that are dark and foreboding.
It is the oil of the Holy Spirit that enables us to burn with a light brighter than ourselves. It is the oil of the Holy Spirit that gives us the power to light the way for others, to give to others, to share with others what we ourselves have been given, to pray for others, and to be kind to others.
