There's Hope For Today

DAY 8 OF 366

And what remains when the “amen” is spoken at our gravesides? What of our labor yet brings a harvest? What lives outside our selfish human spheres? Don’t get me wrong – I’m not thinking about dying so much as I am about living. I know that I will step from this temporal world into His presence when He calls, but what will remain?

My investments for Christ in people will remain. Therefore I must increase my spiritual deposits. My prayers will live forever before God’s throne. Therefore I must pray more, and pray for the generations that may follow. My life story may, somehow, live on to inspire another. Therefore I must live out God’s script in faithfulness, excellence, and godliness. My giving may enable a mission school to thrive, a ministry to grow, a lost one to be found.

Therefore, I must give of what I earn, and give even to sacrifice when I see a need that I can meet. My children carry my physical and spiritual DNA. I must know that they know Him. I must know that they love Him – I must, that the faith of my fathers lives to touch another generation.

Consider what lives on when you are gone. Live beyond your life span.
