Ephesians: How to Love Like JesusНамуна
Devotional:
When you apply for a job, often, there is a requirement to submit a resume. The purpose of a resume is to explain your prior experience in the area and how you are qualified for the job. In this passage of scripture, Paul presents his resume. He talks about his encounter with grace, how God has moved in his life, and his purpose in faith. Through this passage, Paul not only allows the Ephesians to gain an understanding of his journey but also to see his credentials for instructing them on faith. Finally, Paul mentions his suffering, and how in his suffering, there is glory for the church of Jesus.
Questions:
- Reflect on your journey with God. Where have you seen Him work in your life? Where have you found it hard to follow Him? How can you use your story to bring Him glory?
- Look at verse 13. Consider Romans 5:3-5. What does Paul mean when he says, “I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which are your glory?”
- In verses 8 and 9, Paul explains that his role, given by God, is to preach the “boundless riches of Christ” to the Gentiles. Paul’s mission is to share Jesus with those who don’t yet know Him. What is your role in faith? How can you share the gospel with those who don’t yet know Jesus?
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for working in my life and building my faith as I grow in love. Help me to be bold in sharing Your message with those who don’t yet know You. Help me to use my story to bring You glory. Amen.
