DAY 38 OF 42

Saul & the Medium of En-Dor

Questions to consider:

  1. What does this passage teach you about God?
  2. What does this teach you about humanity and the world?
  3. Saul never repented for going against and ignoring God, yet he felt abandoned by God. Do you ever relate to Saul and feel like God isn’t listening to you? How could you incorporate asking God for forgiveness more into your life?
  4. Saul goes to a medium to try to find direction for his life. Do you ever go to unhealthy places for insight or help? How would your life be different if you went to God instead?

Let’s Pray:

Father God, I confess that sometimes I run to unhealthy things to make me feel better or to give me advice. I pray that I would remove those habits from my life and run to you for all my needs.

About this Plan

1 Samuel

Picture this: a nation chosen by God; a prophet from an unlikely background to help show God’s ways to His people; a king whose fear and unfaithfulness bring disaster; and a man after God’s own heart who changed the nation of Israel forever. This is a story of God’s reign and rule, Israel’s choices and consequences, and two men’s different responses to God.
