God's Great Victories

DAY 11 OF 14

Day 11: Impossible, possible

Think about:

Nothing changes until something changes.

Jonathan and his armor bearer had a daring plan! Jonathan realized nothing was going to change until someone stepped out to make something change! Jonathan chose to listen to God and step out even though it seemed impossible. The Israelites were surrounded and they didn’t have very many weapons – a battle they should have lost!! However because Jonathan chose to listen to God and step out without hesitation with his armor bearer, Israel won the battle!

When it feels like we are surrounded by hard times, and the bad things seem to outnumber the good things we can remember that we can still win impossible battles with God because we have prayer as a weapon of our own that makes us strong and defeats the enemy! We can see things change, when we decide to make a change and ask others to help us.

What Now?

How can you be like Jonathan?

Start to pray. Pray whenever you are feeling sad or confused. Pray when you know people are going through hard times! Pray!

Prayer lifts our own hearts up when they feel sad. Prayer can change our mood and how we see what is going on around us. Sometimes things can feel like they have no hope but after we pray we can see things like a new opportunity to do thing differently with God!

When we pray God hears us! He listens and answers our prayers too. You don’t have to be big and important or have all the right words. God loves your prayer and God loves your faith! When we come together in prayer everything can change!

When things seem impossible, have courage to make some changes and talk to people who can help you.
