Don't Miss the Moment: A 5 Day Guide to Embracing God's PlanНамуна
Failure under the right perspective is such a gift. When you’re in the middle of failure, it feels like, well . . . you’ve failed. But if you’ve never experienced the beautiful gift of learning from your failure, please trust me on this—if you can learn from it, you can grow from it. I remember standing at an altar many years ago, feeling defeated by some of my life’s choices. As I stood there with a heavy heart, the pastor walked up to me and said, “You can make a mistake and not be a mistake.” Those words, to this day, are life-changing to me. They not only changed the trajectory of my life then, but today I often use them to help others who feel the same way. It’s possible to miss the mark but still reach the goal.
Sometimes the fact is we do fail, and we all have people in our lives who are quick to point that out. People who are negative, judgmental, and self-righteous. But when you encounter those people, just know they are a distraction from the bigger picture God is trying to show you. Stay away from those people at all costs. Love them from a distance . . . and leave them there! Instead, look for people who will motivate you, push you, and challenge you to be a better you.
God will use voices like a mentor, pastor, or even this author to help you realize he wants to do more in your life. Honoring the moment means being the absolute best you can be with the tools you have at your disposal right now. You may be clueless in regard to your career, but you can be diligent and resourceful at your current job. You may not have the highest pay scale that you want at the moment, but you can learn to be frugal and save what you do have. God will always bless your attempt at order and structure. That’s just his way! So, whether you can track how you’ve improved on a map or you simply became more aware of areas you need to grow in, you’ve experienced success.
