DAY 35 OF 40

Living the Blessed Life | The Secret of Multiplication

Do you wish you could multiply your money? Well, God can, and He wants to do it for you! He multiplied food and oil for a poor widow and her son. He multiplied the strength of outnumbered Jewish soldiers in battle after battle. He even multiplied fish and loaves on a couple Galilean hillsides. Clearly, God is the Master of multiplication, and He has two basic secrets for multiplication in His kingdom.

The first secret is that something must be blessed before it can multiply. In other words, the firstfruits (tithe) must be given to the Lord first. When the first portion is given to the Lord, what remains in your possession is blessed.

The second secret of multiplication is that only what you give above the tithe can bring multiplication. Sometimes those who tithe give nothing more, and their finances never multiply. They don’t realize tithing isn’t giving. Tithing is simply returning to God what’s His. You have to give over and above your tithe if you want your finances to multiply.

It’s not an issue of how much you give, but how you give. It all comes back to your heart and your motivation. He wants you to live by faith and believe that He can cause your finances to go further than anything you can do through your own cleverness or diligence. God wants to bless and multiply your finances—just as He blessed and multiplied the two fish and the five loaves.

Memory Verse

"But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:20–21
