Hope Kids

DAY 7 OF 7

God and glowing things

Most people, no matter what age they are, like things that glow in the dark.

What things have you seen that glow in the dark?

Maybe you’ve stayed so long by a fire that you’ve seen the coals glowing, or looked up into a clear night sky and seen the stars. Did you know there are even some types of coral and jellyfish that glow in the dark?

Some people have seen glow worms in dark caves or watched fireworks light up a night sky on New Year’s Eve. A bedroom ceiling can have special stickers that glow in the dark that make a whole galaxy appear at night. Even one small lit candle can make a special glow.

God made us to enjoy things that glow in the dark. One way God helps us understand the type of love He has for us is by talking about Himself as light. When God sent His son Jesus, He told people He would glow in the dark and be their light.

Think about all the reasons you love things that glow in the dark, and remember God wants to be like that for you. Helping you see in the dark, helping you feel safe, and making you smile because things that glow are intriguing. The extra fun part is, we can carry that same feeling of light and give it to others.

How could you glow today?
