DAY 6 OF 7

Day 6 God Keeps His Promises

God kept every promise that He made to the Israelites. Chapter 12 in the book of Joshua lists every defeated King. Each territory that they fought has a king, which means, every one of these kings and their soldiers and their fighting units had to be defeated in order for God’s promised land to come to pass. God made it so and they are listed, all 31 one of them.

The King of Jericho

The King of Ai

The King of Jeruseluam

The King of Hebreon

The King of Jarmuth

The King of Lachish

The King of Eglon

The King of Gezer

The King of Debir

The King of Geder

The King of Hormah

The King of Arad

The King of Libnah, Adullam, Makkedah, Bethel, Tappuah, Hepher, Ap[hek, Lasharaon, Madon, Hazor, Shimoron Meron, Accsahaph, Taaanach, Megiddo, Kedesh, Jokneam in Carmel, The King of Dor in Naphoth Dor, the King of Gyim in Gilgal, and the King of Tirzah. 31 defeated kings in All.

Each of these kings, their armies and their fighting men were defeated so that God’s promise to the Israelites of a land flowing with milk and honey would come to pass.

He helped Israel defeat every one of these 31 kings and kingdoms so that He could fulfill His promise to them. If you don’t think He can heal your sickness, you are dead wrong. If you don’t think He can save your lost child, you are dead wrong. If you don’t think He can change your financial situation, you are dead wrong.

The Israelites received the promises of God because they were obedient. If we want to see God’s promises to us kept like He kept them for the Israelites and especially for Joshua we must do three things.

1) Spend quality time with God in prayer to find out what His will is for us.

2) Spend quality time in His Word to find out what His perfect will is for us.

3) Spend time serving Him with the gifts that He has given us, to walk in His perfect will for us.

We know these things, right? We have heard them a million times in church but putting them into practice another important thing. The book of James teaches us to not just be hearers of the Word, but doers. Yes, God has promised that He has amazing plans for us.

Our God is a promise maker and He is a promises Keeper. What promise from God are you waiting on Him to follow through with? Trust me friend, it will come to pass. He’s good for it.
