The Practical Will of God     

The direction for our lives is simple but important. Pray for all in authority, with thankfulness. It is usually fairly easy to pray for those in authority, but it’s not always easy to be thankful for them. When we consider that Paul lived at a time of extremely abusive leaders, we realize that this was not an untested theory or a flowery suggestion. His insight has teeth to it because of his own experience. Cultivating a heart that values leaders regardless of how little godliness is in their lives is a challenge, but with great reward. Being thankful for them before they deserve it qualifies them for a visitation of God in a most remarkable way.
