Because we live in this fallen world and battle our fleshly desires daily, believers may find themselves falling into disobedience and feeling discouraged. However, our God promises compassion which never fails and mercy that is replenished each and every day when we seek Him. Every day we will make multiple choices which reflect our level of dedication to the Lord. When we know and understand God’s Word and His desire towards us, we can be strengthened and make the tough choice to stand with Him no matter what other offers are on the table.

What choices are you facing right now? Does God’s desire for you play a part in your decision-making? Will you begin viewing and digesting the Word of God as a source of guidance, as well as a source of life, revival, and hope for every circumstance?

Father God, stretch my heart to absorb everything You hold dear. When I am discouraged, grief-stricken, and heavy hearted, direct me to Your Word so that I may be lifted up. Lord, teach me to choose holiness, righteousness, and sacrifice when everything in me wants to choose self-preservation, comfort, and convenience. When I fail to choose correctly, remind me that You remain faithful to renew Your grace and mercy so that I get another chance to choose Your will and Your desire for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
