Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

DAY 10 OF 54

We were created for worship. When believers are not diligent about worshipping God, we will worship something or someone else. Whether it is a person, our career, our position/status, or material possessions, if our hearts aren’t guarded and inclined towards God, those other things become exalted in our life. Only when we surrender that person or thing to the Lord, can He then take His rightful place in our heart. What are you pursuing right now? What has your attention? Have you begun to exalt yourself and your desires above God? Will you ask God daily to realign your heart with His? Father God, fill me with a hunger and thirst for You and Your Word. Remove anything that distracts my focus and attention away from You. Reshape and refocus my dreams, my plans, and my desires so that they align with Yours. When I resist, root in me Your promise that Your thoughts and ways are higher than my own, and Your desire for me is more than I could ever dream or imagine. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

Woven throughout this longest chapter of the Bible are beautiful character qualities of Scripture, reminding us that God’s Word is sufficient, truthful, pure, authoritative, and unchanging. But when we look to God himself – we see how his character is reflected in this chapter as well. This Bible study gives us a glimpse into the beauty, importance, and usefulness of Scripture, prompting us to walk away more in love with God and his Word, more aware of our sin, and more in awe of our great Savior and his sacrifice on our behalf.
