Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

DAY 24 OF 54

The Bible tells us that believers will face persecution because of their faith. However, the Bible also tells us that God remains steadfast and faithful to protect and defend those He loves. He is our protector, our shelter, and our defender. He makes our enemies footstools. There is a price to pay for seeking to hurt God’s daughters, and we must trust that God will seek justice in His time and in His way. When faced with persecution, we must remember and meditate on God’s promises in the Bible for hope and security. What circumstances are you facing right now that are causing you to doubt God’s protection? What are you forgetting about God? Father God, Your Word says that You will be an enemy unto my enemies and an adversary to my adversaries. Therefore, Lord, free me from the need to fight and defend myself. Free me from anger and bitterness. Allow me to remain quiet and confident in You as insults, disrespect, contempt, and humiliation strike hard and often. Remind me of Who You are...my Loving Father. My All-Powerful God, who will deal explicitly with those who have harmed, hurt, and humiliated me so that I don’t ever have to. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

Woven throughout this longest chapter of the Bible are beautiful character qualities of Scripture, reminding us that God’s Word is sufficient, truthful, pure, authoritative, and unchanging. But when we look to God himself – we see how his character is reflected in this chapter as well. This Bible study gives us a glimpse into the beauty, importance, and usefulness of Scripture, prompting us to walk away more in love with God and his Word, more aware of our sin, and more in awe of our great Savior and his sacrifice on our behalf.
