MOTION: Living Beyond

DAY 3 OF 10

LIVING BEYOND: What I See

I choose to see other people how God sees them.

Have you ever been around a child with a wild imagination? They have this ability to see things others cannot see. Think about a child who draws a picture. You may see a mess of colors, but they see something completely different.

So often, we make assumptions about people based on what we see instead of who God created them to be. But what we consider a mess, God considers a masterpiece. What would our lives look like if we began to see other people the way God sees them? What would our relationships look like if we allowed the one who created them to define them?

The Bible tells us that God created us to be in relationship with others.  It is a part of our design, so that we can experience the full life He intends for us.

The enemy knows this, so he makes every attempt to keep us isolated. He lies to us until we’re convinced that people are too complicated, relationships are too messy and we are too broken to experience the life God intends for us.

So, how do we push past our pain and choose to see other people how God sees them? We first have to choose to remember the incredible love God has demonstrated to us. No one is perfect. Every person has a story that God is redeeming -- even us. We were the mess that He called a masterpiece.

We are only able to love because God first loved us. When we understand the grace we have been given, we can’t help but extend it to others. In choosing to love what God loves, we are demonstrating our greatest devotion to Him.
