Everyone. Everywhere. Part 2

DAY 3 OF 16

Pray for Opportunities!

Your testimony is great to share anytime, which is why you should always be prepared. 1 Peter 3:15 says to always be “prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” Practice sharing your testimony out loud a few times with a close friend so that you will feel confident in sharing. Ask them to give you feedback to make sure what you have said is clear.

The Apostle Paul thought telling his conversion story was so important that we see him share it three times in the book of Acts. Each time, Paul emphasized different parts of his story to relate to the audience he was speaking to. And each time, you’ll notice that he also very intentionally shared the Gospel.

Remember, your testimony is not ultimately about you. It is all about God. It is about how Jesus came and rescued you and gave you new life in Him. The Gospel, as good as it is, is also offensive to those who are spiritually blind. Sharing your testimony is a really great and disarming way to communicate the Gospel with those you are most concerned with offending. After all, you are sharing your story, the Gospel applied to your own life (not theirs).

Questions to Ask Yourself:

  1. Have you ever had an opportunity to share your story but backed out because you did not feel prepared?
  2. As you read Acts 26, what stands out to you in the way Paul shares his story of conversion to Agrippa?

What's Next:

  1. This week share your story with someone you have never shared your story with. Here are sample questions to help guide you on how to have a spiritual conversation.
  • Sometime I would love to hear more of your story. Would you like to grab coffee at some point this week?
  • Ask them about their story and then ask them if you can share your story.
  • Do you sometimes think of spiritual things?
