Journey Of The Seed - Catch The Bible's Big Picture In 60 DaysНамуна

EXILE UP NORTH
[Scheduled Reading: 2 Kings 12-17]
Joash’s son Amaziah (#42) follows a similar path. He starts off with a “good king” legacy. But he too turns away from God later in life.
(Notice the pattern of many kings – start good, finish bad.)
Next in line of The Seed is Azariah (#43 a.k.a. Uzziah) and Jotham (#44). Both are “mostly good” kings.
Meanwhile, something sad is about to happen up north for Israel.
After nineteen straight evil kings, Israel is invaded by Assyria. Its people are deported, bringing the end to the ten northern tribes.
They scatter and never return to their identity as individual tribes or even as a kingdom.
Meanwhile Judah’s captivity is coming soon, too. It is roughly one hundred fifty years away. They will also be exiled… but God has a plan for their eventual return.
And why does God plan a return for Judah and not for Israel?
Of course… The Seed.
