Fix Your Eyes On JesusНамуна
Think like Jesus
I’m not an artist. But—can I brag a bit?—my drawing was really good. I’m talking about the picture of Jesus’ thought bubble. I drew a stick figure Jesus and a big thought bubble emerging from his brain. Then I added another stick figure—you—to the right of the thought bubble and, with a few small circles from your brain, connected your thoughts to Jesus’ thought bubble. Can you picture it? Okay, maybe my art wasn’t that great after all . . .
But the passage that inspired the art is the greatest: “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:1,2). Paul wants you to set your heart and your mind on the things above. Put on your God glasses every morning and see the world like God sees it. Join Jesus’ thought bubble!
This won’t make your problems go away, but it will give you a divine way of approaching life. Past sins turn into thoughts of amazing grace. Present challenges turn into thoughts of being pruned, refined, shaped into God’s image. Future worries turn into thoughts of Jesus’ place at the right hand of God, so you don’t have to be afraid.
Joining your thought bubble to Jesus’ is the key to letting go of your fears and anxieties and finding joy in the unbreakable promises of God. So, please join Jesus today! There’s enough room in his picture to include you!
