God Of Wonders Family Devotional For Kids

DAY 2 OF 5

Escape From Egypt

Born a Hebrew slave and raised as a prince of Egypt, Moses was torn between two lives. As Moses grew up, his thoughts turned more and more towards his Hebrew brothers and sisters in slavery.

One day, Moses witnessed an Egyptian mistreating a Hebrew slave. He took revenge by killing the Egyptian and buried the man in the sand. Moses was soon discovered, and Pharaoh declared that Moses was to be put to death. Moses had to flee Egypt to save his life!

Most remember Moses for his heroic act of leading God’s people out of slavery. So it can be surprising to learn about the sins of his past. What are some of the bad decisions that you have made? As you reflect on this question, remember that you are not alone. The Bible teaches us that all have sinned. But there is good news, Jesus came to save us from sin!

“But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)”

– Ephesians 2:4-5 (NLT)
