John The Baptist For YouНамуна
Cheat-sheet
Tests are not fun. But if the teacher gave you the exact questions in a cheat-sheet, it’s not so bad, right? At least you can study the information you need to be sure you pass.
The greatest teacher, God, doesn’t want us to fail. He gave us all the answers we will need in the Bible. He even tells us what the future will look like so we know what to expect and what to look forward to. Spoiler alert: God even announced when he would send his Son to save his people!
Sometimes God would show a person things about the future to share with his people. They are called prophets. About 700 years before it happened, the prophet Isaiah said about Jesus, “the Sovereign Lord comes with power, and he rules with a mighty arm. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.”
Power and a mighty arm. Jesus sure is strong. God was coming to redeem His people from their sin. All the people that were hopeless, complaining about the struggles in life would remember Isaiah’s words and find hope again. We desperately needed a savior to come and free us from what can so easily entangle us.
What questions or doubts do you have about your present or your future? God doesn’t want you to feel lost or confused; He has a plan for your life that is good. Your present and future are safe in God’s hands. He is Emmanuel, God with us.
Discover the difference that knowing God’s plan for your life can make in tomorrow’s devotional.
