Just Jesus: Answers For Life

DAY 30 OF 31

Letting Go

Letting go doesn’t mean giving up.  It does mean releasing your hold on a situation. The key to letting go of offense is living an attitude of forgiveness. Do not give judgment a foothold. Let compassion replace judgment. Letting go of offense enables you to keep a heart attitude of trusting God for everything. Forgiveness doesn’t mean negating the evil of a wrong committed. To forgive literally means to absolve from payment. There are some offenses that are so evil that only God can bring vengeance. It means turning the offender over to God. You forgive the person - not the evil. What won’t you let go of? Where do you feel self-justified? God isn’t worried about what’s right in your life. He’s calling you away from what you’re holding on to. What do you want?   What do you want more than God? What are the things you are sad to let go of? The things that you are strongest and most self-reliant in are the things you probably need to let go of. Letting go births true change.

Memory Verse

“Give to him who asks you, and don’t turn away him who desires to borrow from you.” Matthew 5:42.

Declaration Prayer

No human wisdom or understanding or plan can stand against the Lord. I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. The Lord who made heaven and earth, helps me. God, I will keep on hoping for Your help; I will praise You more and more. When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it." I believe in God who brings the dead back to life and who creates new things out of nothing. In hope against hope I believe, I will not waver in believing God’s promise. In fact, my faith will grow stronger, and in this I bring glory to God. This hope will not disappoint. I know how dearly God loves me, because he has given me the Holy Spirit to fill my heart with His love. I let go to the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.
