DAY 18 OF 30

 A FATHER'S WISE ADVICE

In high school, I participated in track and field running the 100-, 220- and 440-meter relay race.  As a runner, there was nothing worse than stumbling while on the track.  Stumbling almost guarantees losing the race and falling down, which is painful and embarrassing.

If we abide in God’s wisdom, we will not be held back and will not stumble by bad judgement. The idea of not being held back or stumbling means continual progress, staying on course towards the end goal. Our goal is to be mature, to be more like Jesus.

My wife Abbie and I are proud to see that our son Armin has taken hold of our  instructions. Armin no longer has the need to stick his hand in the electrical
socket.  He now knows that it is not something to touch. It delights us as parents
to see our child learning through our guidance. I believe God is the same way with us. I imagine that God is delighted when we take hold,  abide in his wisdom
and instructions.

About this Plan

Journal ~ Proverbs

Although the Proverbs seems like a loosely composed wisdom sayings, on a whole they actually present Christians with an opportunity to contemplate Christ who is wisdom in the flesh. The Proverbs that are selected invites you to a practice of 'ora et labora' , we contemplate Christ and work in his world—the essence of Christian life.
