OVERCOMING TEMPTATION
The consequences of sin are not just spiritual. Solomon spells them out: you lose your honor, you lose your dignity, strangers will take your money, you will become a slave, you will bemoan your wasted life, and the church may have had to
discipline you.
Monica's thoughts: Don’t give your best for less than a godly, God-given relationship. Don’t settle for “good enough” or even sinful relationships—stay away from them, they aren't headed anywhere good. In the end we recognize our sins… and find out what everyone else did, too.
We often think that we can sin without consequences. These verses make the consequences of sin clear, and they are costly. How long does it take to build a reputation? How long to be considered a leader? How long to earn influence with others? How long to build a business, buy a house, save money for your children? Solomon makes it clear—living outside the boundaries of God's ways will cost
you everything.
If you know how much it will cost you, will you still sin?

About this Plan
Although the Proverbs seems like a loosely composed wisdom sayings, on a whole they actually present Christians with an opportunity to contemplate Christ who is wisdom in the flesh. The Proverbs that are selected invites you to a practice of 'ora et labora' , we contemplate Christ and work in his world—the essence of Christian life.
