DAY 24 OF 31

A Prayer for Pimps and Traffickers

“Sin causes a madness which makes sick souls dream that they are in sound health.” –Charles Spurgeon

Dear God,

It is very difficult to pray for pimps and traffickers. I thank you that your Word is clear about the consequences of sin: for the wages of sin is death. (Rom. 6:23) Righteousness and justice are the foundations of your throne and you work righteousness and justice for all the oppressed! (Ps. 103:6; Ps. 89:14) The evildoer has no future hope and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out. (Prov. 24:20) At the same time, Lord, it is also your desire that all men be saved. (1 Tim. 2:4) You declared that you take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. (Ezek. 33:11)

There have already been reports of traffickers hearing the gospel and experiencing transformation. Now they are helping to free the very girls they once oppressed. I pray the gospel would be spread among traffickers and that they would be cut to the heart. (Acts 2:37) Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. You did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. (Luke 5:32)

Open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus. (Acts 26:18) Let the sex trafficking industry be shut down not only through outsiders, but also through transformed insiders. In Jesus’ powerful name I pray, amen.
