DAY 26 OF 31

A Prayer to Break the Bonds of Pornography

“50% of all Christian men and 20% of all Christian women are addicted to pornography.” – ChristiaNet poll, 2006

Dear Father,

I pray for the believers who are trapped in addiction to pornography. Some still do not understand the connection between the images they see and the injustice of human trafficking. I pray that they would abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against their soul. (1 Pet. 2:11) Lord, your Word says that whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

(Prov. 28:13) If we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) I pray that you will give these individuals the heart to repent and the courage to seek counsel and accountability for help. Teach them to throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let them run with perseverance the race marked out for them. (Heb. 12:1)

I worship you because freedom from addiction is possible with you; when the Son sets us free, we are free indeed! (John 8:36) You give us victory through Jesus Christ! (1 Cor. 15:57) In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
