Quick Encouragement for Medical ProfessionalsSmakprov
Working in medicine means we have the distinct privilege of being near to the brokenhearted in situations daily that most might never encounter in a lifetime. And on the same exact day, we rejoice with those who have incredible news to share.
Day in and day out we look crushed in the eyes.
We hold the hands of the brokenhearted.
We celebrate the good news, the improved labs, the healing, or the pregnancy.
We get to minister to the hurting, whether that is physical or emotional and also get to cheer for those who are sharing great news.
Our days are different, our patients change, but our job to be a light for Christ in a place of hurting and celebration never changes.
We get to show up to our jobs and ask the Holy Spirit for sensitivity as to what each person we encounter will need from us today and how we can be the presence of God to them in a moment of hurt or excitement.
Lord, what a privilege to minister both to those hurting and to those rejoicing. Give us the bandwidth emotionally to be to each patient what they need from us by Your grace. Help us to weep and to rejoice in such a way that our patients know it is Your Spirit in us. We want to bring Your presence everywhere we go. Amen.
