DAY 3 OF 4

Day 3 - Never alone.

Devotional: You weren’t made to be alone.

Through the ups and downs, or the ebb and flow of life, it’s common to feel isolated at times. As we have these moments, remember this timeless truth: we are not made to be alone. God designed us for connection, not only with the people He intentionally put around us but with Himself. When feelings of loneliness begin to overwhelm us or fester in our minds, cling to the promises of Scripture. In Deuteronomy 31:8, God promises to never leave us or forsake us. He doesn’t say, “maybe” or “depending on the circumstance.” God PROMISES to never leave us. This is a comforting reminder that even in our loneliest moments, God’s presence surrounds us offering comfort, companionship, and unconditional support. When we feel lonely, it’s so easy to withdraw or keep to ourselves out of fear that no one will understand or that once you confide in someone, they’ll leave you. But Isaiah 41:10 tells us not to be afraid because God is with us through every trial and hardship. We can take comfort in knowing that even if someone leaves our side, God will always be beside us. Like a loving parent watches over their child, God protects us and keeps us safe. Isaiah 43:2 is another scripture where God promises to be with us through the storms of life. God is always with us, ensuring that we will not be consumed by our circumstances. It doesn’t say that God prevents those circumstances, it says He makes sure that we aren’t consumed by them. Meaning, you’re going to go through trials and moments of feeling lonely or isolated and when you do, He’ll be right there with you and will use the people around you to help you in those feelings. So, when you’re lonely or isolated, reach out to someone you trust. Whether it’s a friend, family member, or mentor, having someone to talk to always helps. And remember, God is always there for you, ready to listen and provide comfort.

Personal Reflection:

  1. In what ways has God proven Himself to be near in your life?
  2. Why does isolation feel “safer” than companionship at times?
  3. What promises of God do you cling to daily?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to open my spirit, heart, and soul to your nearness each day and in every moment. Thank you for walking alongside me no matter what I face. Allow me to see you in not only the big things but the small things around me. Continue to protect me with your presence of comfort and love. It is a gift that The God of the Universe knows me by name and hears my prayers. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!
