P.I.E.C.E.S: 6 Steps to Healing & Building Confidence After Relationship Heartbreak a 7-Day Plan by Alicia Renee’ Roberts

DAN 1 OD 7

Introduction- Day One

I didn't wake up one morning to say "I do" in front of friends and family, only to say, "I no longer do," in court a short time later. I didn't anticipate making plans with someone to build a future and live our lives together, only to learn later that we would never be able to create that future due to his untimely passing. I never could've imagined feeling broken, unseen, insecure, and hurt in what used to be a fairy-tale relationship with the person I loved. After trying to figure life out on my own, I didn't know that I would struggle with feelings of rejection and anxiety surrounding the uncertainty of knowing if I would ever experience ever-lasting true love.

I didn't know those things would happen to me, but they did, and I cried out to God many times to mend my broken heart. What about you, sis? Can you identify with any of the above? Have you struggled to cope with the unfortunate pain of relationship heartbreak? What damage has it done to your spirit, hope, or goals?

As I tried to pick up the pieces of my brokenness, I noticed my confidence was at an all-time low. That is when I decided to make a firm pivot to get the healing that I needed. I attained wise counsel, began praying earnestly, journaled, read the Bible, and reflected on God's promises. Unknowingly, I started implementing the P.I.E.C.E.S framework into my life. God also began mending the wounds that only He could repair.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3 NIV)

Whether you are divorced, separated, in a broken relationship, or single and trying to overcome feelings of rejection, I invite you to take this journey for the next six days to begin healing and picking up the broken pieces in your life. Allow God to bind up your wounds. Release your pain and believe with confidence that restoration is possible. Awaken a spirit of optimism and fervently seek to live your best life – the life Christ has intended for you to live.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” (Psalm 34:18 -19 NIV)
