The Heart of TransformationUzorak
Reconciliation is paramount to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God wants to reconcile all of humanity back to Himself, and he did this through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. In order for any kind of reconciliation to take place within God’s people, there has to be repentance AND transformation. King David’s brokenness allowed him to become completely reliant on God. When we are broken, we are put in this place of reliance. When we are broken, it is uncomfortable and it requires a level of humility, but it allows us to be reliant on the work of the Holy Spirit. We are no longer proud and arrogant, we are able to respond to the Holy Spirit, and we have space to have real and honest conversations with our souls. Today, we are being asked to make a sacrifice. The work of racial reconciliation requires both obedience and transformation, and we are being called to this higher standard as The Church, to move the Gospel work of reconciliation forward in our world.
Questions:
1. Today, will you be like Jonah and simply sacrifice obedience? Or will you be like King David and sacrifice a broken spirit? Ask the Holy Spirit today to search your heart and uncover the areas where he can do deep transformative work in you.
